Penguin checks out the humans


We’re curious about each other, across the mystery of the species barrier. This little video is a good example of that.

Clad in yellow jackets, these humans know to remain still and let the penguins check them out. This gentoo penguin explores the strange creature lying quietly on the snow.

Then, curiosity satisfied, the penguin runs off to find something more interesting.

Meerkats and their people


For any of you fans of BBC’s Meerkat Manor – and even those who never watched the meerkat soap opera – here’s a delightful film from BBC – about the filming of the series.

The meerkats have been studied for so many years they take people for granted. They climb on them, nuzzle them, sit on their heads, and generally interact with them as they would any harmless neighbours.
